Community and Collaboration in the Creative Process

What happens when you put a group of talented writers of color in a virtual room to create adventures and settings that draw from their cultural backgrounds? In the case of D&D's upcoming Journeys Through The Radiant Citadel, a bit of magic. Join five of the project's collaborators for a conversation about the process, what it means to have a seat at the table, and what comes next.

Pam Punzalan (she/her) is a queer game worker based in Manila. Her professional work includes Journeys Through the Radiant Citadel, Hunter: The Reckoning, Starfinder, Spire, and Thirsty Sword Lesbians. She's working hard on the official Dagger Isles Supplement for Blades in the Dark.

Dominique Dickey (they/them) is a writer, editor, cultural consultant, and Nebula-nominated RPG hooligan. In addition to creating TRIAL, a narrative courtroom tabletop role-playing game about race in the criminal justice system, and co-creating Tomorrow on Revelation III, a tabletop role-playing game about surviving and building community on a hyper-capitalist space station, Dominique has written for Thirsty Sword Lesbians, Sea of Legends, and Monte Cook Games.

Basheer Ghouse (he/him) is a freelance writer, independent game designer, and cultural consultant working in TRPGs. He's worked with Wizards, Paizo, Rowan Rook and Deckard, Kobold Press, and more, and also publishes his own work.

Erin Roberts (she/her) is a prose, interactive fiction, and TTRPG writer who has worked with Wizards of the Coast, Paizo, World of Darkness, NeverEnding, and R. Rook Studio.
