Starting a brand new RPG can challenging. Starting a brand new group can be scary, intimidating.

Doing both… well, that’s some daunting madness. I’ll share my fears and practices to do either and both. Online, or when the time is right IRL. Let’s get together and talk about it, bring your questions and fears.

  • Jahmal “Mad Jay” Brown (he/him) is a freelance game writer/designer. From the The Clockwinders for Fate, to a contributing author on Pathfinder’s Mwangi Expanse and all the indie goods in-between! He hosts the Diceology podcast and live stream games with the crew on Twitch/ActualPlay. He loves games and stories about outsiders and underdogs, overcoming challenges. He games with his kids — he's still working on his mom.

  • Rich Rogers (he/him) is a host and producer of the +1 Forward podcast, a podcast that's Powered by the Apocalypse. He's an ENnie award-winning author of Hit the Streets: Defend the Block, a game about street-level supers protecting their neighborhood. Rich is a GM for the Gauntlet gaming community where he runs 8-10 game sessions every month for members of the community, always starting fresh with a new group of folks each month. Outside of gaming, he's a happily married guy with an amazing wife, they both dote over their high school-aged son and their dog named Beaker.

  • Lowell Francis (he/him) is the manager for the Gauntlet Gaming Community. He designed and co-wrote Hearts of Wulin, a PbtA game of wuxia melodrama. Lowell won an ENnie for his Age of Ravens blog and hosts the Gauntlet Podcast. He runs at least four online ttrpg sessions every week.
