Shining steel rises above coal-stained roads and smoky dens of illegal liquor and opium. Dark powers hide in the shadows cast by the blinding light of technology. This is Kazaril, the beacon of science and industrialization of the burgeoning economic superpower that is Ismondel. Black Media Inc. is the largest corporation in the country, built by Mr. Anaxamander Black over 50 years ago on tabloid newspapers and state-sanctioned blood sport.

Mr. Black is dying now and his family, confidants, enemies, and investors all want a piece of the pie- or a piece of each other.

Players take the roles of those close to Mr. Black—or those close to claiming his power in a political, narrative game. This system runs without narrative input from a GM or Storyteller beyond the setup, and players may craft the game world and narrative together to form a unique story.

Please note the trigger warnings for violence, family death, gaslighting, mental illness, death, abuse, and suicide. This game is set in a dark Edwardian fantasy setting. Many of the details are left to the players, but the tone and starting nation and factions are fixed.
