Description:

It is the eve of the new year and the time of the Ceremony of Transience is upon us. The Divine Majesty is descending from the palace to mix with commoners and nobles alike as together they haggle amongst each other to settle matters of business and pleasure, and pray to the Gods for a good position in the year going forth. But the magic is unbalanced, revolution is roiling in the distance, and recently a round-eyed foreigner has landed his ship on the shore.

At midnight, when the year turns, the prophecy will be delivered, whether or not the Country of Sun & Sky is prepared for what the future holds.

Prophecy of the Starry Skies is a comedy of manners based loosely on Meiji and Edo era period dramas with a heavy dash of alchemical elemental magic and theocratic rule. Written for and placed 3rd in the Intercon 2014 Iron GM contest.

This game is written in the theater style: players will be provided with pre-written character sheets, and for those that sign up in advance there will be (optional) costuming hints. Remaining character slots will be cast at the door.

(CW: mentions of sexual infidelity, prostitution, racial stereotypes. Game is, however PG-13 in tone. For more information, please feel free to email us at justicesanstruth at gmail.)

Other game tags: Theater style, comedy of manners, politics, gender identity and expression.

Tags: Adult themes, Comical, Drama, Emotional, Fantasy, Intrigue, PG-13, Romance, Sex and Sexuality, Strong storyline

  • Hello all,

I’ll be doing this larp on Sunday, so I won’t be joining you here. I was wondering if any of you would be interested in continuing your larping on Friday night from 10-12 in the “sparkle, baby” game. If so, you need to sign up by 11:59 pm Monday night. Sorry for the intrusion.

  • Just to clarify —

    – The two runs of Prophecy of the Starry Skies are for the same game, and are not very repeatable! We’d prefer it if you’d only sign up for one run of the game, and not both. Sorry for any confusion.

    – The two hour runtime is not a bug, but a feature request of the Iron GM contest we wrote it for, but we promise you a interesting time, nonetheless.

We hope to see you at the con!
