In 2116 the human race was on the brink of extinction. Our last, greatest hope was the Oneida: a stasis ship that we launched to the planet Luyten b in a desperate attempt to start a new colony and save our species. The trip took over 400 years.

In the year 2558 the woes of the 22nd century were little more than a historical footnote. Humanity survived, societies evolved, and we changed immeasurably. The mining ship Susanō XIV was sent to an uninhabited planet called Luyten b on the edge of corporate space, to test a new strip-mining technology. The trip took 14 years.

New World is a freeform larp that deals with culture clash, colonialism, cultural extinction, xenophobia, connection to one’s history, societal freedoms and norms, and intercultural links.

If possible we would like to run the game such that half the players are Spanish-speaking (conversational or better) and the other half are not. Entonces, hispanohablantes, por favor juega con nosotros! This will allow us to test an optional mode of the game, where five players speak a language the other five don’t understand. Note that this is not required — the game will go ahead regardless of the demographics of the group.
