You were all part of an operation on Mars base Atlas One, a mixture of civilian researchers and the military crew that transported them. The mission was to study a strange spaceship found beneath the surface of Mars, the very first find of alien technology. When unknown alien forces launch a surprise attack, you use the ship as an escape vessel and are attempting to initiate a jump through hyperspace. You will find yourself far from home, trying to make your way toward a better place as you learn the secrets of this strange ship.
You are going to play through three events to get to relative safety. Each event has a specific deck of cards for each station on the ship with different actions that crew members can take. For example, the technician can research or modify the ship’s systems at the engineering station while the captain can organize people or run sensor protocols on the bridge. During the events, you also play out your own characters and must communicate and compromise to succeed. Actions taken by the characters and the resolution of events affect the resources of the ship as a whole, and while the characters have different and sometimes competing priorities, everyone loses if things fall apart.
This game is a LARP based around escape-room-inspired problem solving challenges in which the fate of individual characters and the ship as a whole depends on the choices that the players make. That said, no experience with LARPs or escape rooms is required to play.
Please note that this game simulates the intensity of the fictional situation via time-restricted choices, which could induce stress. In addition, some or all of the characters could die.
