Worldbuilding, from quick prep for a one-shot to creating a massive cohesive world spanning ages, can be tricky! Where to start? How to make it feel real? What to nail down and what to leave open-ended?? How do you do worldbuilding for a ttrpg without planning storylines in advance?! Ack! In this workshop, we'll tackle all that together. Join Meguey Baker, Takuma Okada, and Pam Punzalan for a world-building sprint. Bring your questions, passions, and "maybe sorta like this?" ideas for what a world could be, and let's see what we can make!

Meguey Baker (she/her) is at heart a playful storyteller, and her hope is to share the tools to tell stories. Over the last decades, her work toward this end spans teaching sex ed, teaching LARP at the local high school, designing curriculum to support parents through postpartum depression, curating museum exhibits, designing role-playing games like the award-winning Apocalypse World and the brand new Under Hollow Hills, game design projects with The Girl Effect for reweaving friendships and the University of Pittsburgh for helping people communicate, and most recently, accepting a fellowship with the Center for Transformational Play at Carnegie Mellon University. She lives in New England with her husband and frequent co-designer Vincent Baker, their three children, and rather a lot of books, costumes, and craft supplies. You can find her on Twitter at @nightskygames, on discord @Meguey (she/her)#7591 at the Apocalypse World server, and follow her creative work through the Baker Patreon.

Pam Punzalan (she/they) is a queer Filipino designer whose personal work explores themes of intimacy, rebellion, loss, reclamation, and the many different shades of violence. Beyond design, she is an editor, sensitivity & cultural consultant, and advocate for RPGSEA (Roleplaying Games Southeast Asia). Participating in the building of multiple, diverse tables for the tabletop game industry is a deeply important engagement for her, and she has had the pleasure of being part of the organizing teams of Play Without Apology, a queer-centric collective in the Philippines, and Session Zero Online, an RPGSEA-centric convention for Southeast Asian game designers and enthusiasts. She has written for Evil Hat, Paizo, Wizards of the Coast, and Renegade Games Studio.

Nychelle Schneider (she/her), known in other circles as the magnificent Void. Nychelle’s work includes Blades in the Dark: Dagger Isles, Wildsea, Monster Care Squad, and many more. When not consulting or writing she volunteers with tribal projects and matters of BIPOC/Disability representation.
