If you've previously done it all—writing, editing, layout, and art direction—you may be wondering how that process works when each role is filled by a different person. How do the roles work together? The team behind Improv for Gamers Second Edition is here to answer your questions and share their experience and advice for working on a creative team: author, editor, layout artist, and art director.

Karen Twelves (she/her) is an editor and linguist, and has had the pleasure of working on such projects as Blades in the Dark, Fiasco, Dialect, and Thirsty Sword Lesbians. She just crowdfunded the second edition of Improv for Gamers, a collection of theater exercises to help strengthen skills for gaming, GMing, and larping. She loves playing one-shot narrative games with triumphant wins and disastrous fails, and will tell you all about her Duelist character from a truly epic Pathfinder "Kingmaker" campaign. Learn more about her at and!

Jacky Leung (he/they) is a queer Chinese TTRPG freelance writer and editor. He is the Creative Lead for Unbreakable Publishers, a platform for telling Asian stories by Asian creators. He is also an editor for Modiphius Entertainment's Fallout: the Roleplaying Game. He has always worked on projects with MCDM Productions, Paizo, Hit Point Press, D&D Adventurer's League, and others.

Cris Viana (she/her) is a Brazilian Graphic Designer specialized in Editorial Design and Typography. She has been in love with TTRPGs since high school, and now she works with them, layouting TTRPG books! She is the Lead Graphic Designer at Evil Hat and Layout Artist on the Confluence TTRPG, by Publishing Goblin. When she’s not working, she plays Arabic percussion, drinks lots of tea, invents crazy makeup to use on live streams and plays lots of games. You can find her at and on Twitter @crislv.

Trivia Fox (no pronouns/they) is a producer and art director out of Minneapolis whose most exciting recent projects include Thirsty Sword Lesbians and Apocalypse Keys. Trivia has also had a hand in the art direction of Improv For Gamers, the FATE Accessibility Toolkit, My Little Pony Roleplaying Game, and Vampire: The Masquerade. During the day, Trivia works as a producer at Disruptive Games, creating an exciting unannounced video game project.
